Create your organisation

For Organisation Administrators with authority for this task. Check the selected organisation before making a change.

What you will achieve

Create the correct workspace and move into first-time setup without accidentally duplicating an organisation that already exists.

Before you start

Sign in using your own approved work identity. Agree the organisation name and who is authorised to establish its workspace. If you were invited to an existing organisation, use that invitation instead. Creating another workspace does not recover access to the first one.

This is the founding administrator's journey. It is not an instruction for a Participant who only needs to complete an assigned request.

Create the workspace

  1. Open the organisation selection page and choose the option to create an organisation.
  2. In Create New Organisation, enter Organisation Name. Add a short Description if it will help colleagues identify the workspace.
  3. Read any duplicate warning. A similar name alone does not prove that the workspace is yours; a domain-based match is a reason to investigate, not permission to enter.
  4. If the matching organisation is the one you need, request to join it and wait for the stated outcome. Do not create a duplicate to bypass its administrator.
  5. If a separate organisation is genuinely required, use the offered continue-separately choice. Confirm the intended name and select Create Organisation once.
  6. Wait for creation to finish. Backstory selects the organisation returned by the creation operation and opens first-time setup.
  7. Before adding records or inviting colleagues, check the selected organisation is the one you intended.

Check it worked

The new organisation appears in your organisation list, is selected, and opens the setup journey. Check its name and description. Two workspaces with the same name can exist, so the name alone is not sufficient identification during a support investigation.

If something goes wrong

Problem Next action
A matching workspace appears Check with its administrator before creating another
Creation times out Reopen the organisation list and check for the result before retrying
A field error appears Correct the named field; do not repeatedly resubmit unchanged data
The request is only acknowledged as received Follow that message; do not assume membership or an approval email is guaranteed

Human judgement matters

A workspace is an organisational boundary. Establishing it, inviting people and copying business information into it require authority. Never use a personal duplicate workspace as a workaround for access restrictions.

What next?

For the wider context, see Configure your organisation profile and locations. Continue with first-time setup, then verify membership and responsibilities before inviting the wider team.

Get help

Ask your Organisation Administrator about access or the task owner about the content. For a platform error, include this guide reference, the affected page and a sanitised message. Never share passwords, session details or confidential evidence in an open support request.
